Suzlon wins 30 MW order from Altrade Group
Altrade Groups maiden venture into wind energy
Project will take Suzlons installed base in Rajasthan to over 700 MW
Pune: Suzlon Energy Limited (SEL), the worlds third leading* and Indias largest wind
turbine manufacturer, has won a 30 MW order from Altrade Group through its two group
companies Tarini Minerals Private Limited and M/S Indrani Patnaik. Suzlon will set up,
operate and maintain the project to be installed at wind farms in the Jaisalmer and Jodhpur
districts of Rajasthan. The project will comprise of 20 units of Suzlons S82 1.5 MW wind
turbine generators (WTG) and will be commissioned by January 2011.
Orissa-based Altrade Group focuses primarily on the iron ore mining industry and is further
diversifying into the real estate and hospitality sectors. This project is the Groups maiden
venture into wind energy, and once completed will generate enough electricity to power
over 6,000 households. The Group also has plans to register the projects under the Clean
Development Mechanism (CDM).
The project will extend Suzlons leadership of the Rajasthan wind market taking the total
installed base to over 700 MW.
