Suzlon commissions 50.40 MW wind power project for Ostro Energy
- Commissioned 24 WTGs of S97- 2.1 MW wind power project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
- First wind power project of Ostro Energy in India with Suzlons S9X WTGs
- Will offer operation and maintenance for 12 years through an Integrated Service Package contract
12th October 2015, Pune: Suzlon Group, one of the leading wind turbine manufacturer, today
announced that it has completed the commissioning of 50.40 MW wind power turnkey project for
Ostro Energy Pvt Ltd. (owned by Actis). The project will provide electricity to over 28,000 homes and
curb ~0.10 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
Suzlon has been responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from development, construction to
commissioning and has also been contracted to undertake operations and maintenance services of
the project for 12 years.
This is Ostros first wind power project in India. The project comprises of 24 WTGs (Wind Turbine
Generators) 2.1 MW each, is located in Tejuva, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. It forms an integral part of
Suzlons Jaisalmer wind park, billed to be the countrys largest wind park with a cumulative capacity
over 1300 MW.
The S97 -90mts. hub height WTG features the time tested Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG)
technology which is designed to optimally harness the available wind resources. It not only delivers
higher energy but also higher ROI for customers. Suzlon leveraged its end-to-end solutions expertise
to oversee the project completion.
